Eyewitnesses reported that thousands had gathered around the stage before the concert began, exceeding crowd control capacity. Two people, including a woman, fainted and were first treated at the first aid center before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care.
Police and organizers quickly deployed additional security to regain control. Local Police Commissioner S. Deb Dutta Singh also reviewed the situation onsite. Some local media reported that minor baton charges were used to control the crowd, causing fainting but no serious injuries. One person sustained minor injuries and is stable.
The concert was part of the ‘Bali Yatra Festival,’ held from November 5–13, celebrating Odisha’s maritime heritage with cultural events, trade fairs, and celebrity appearances, drawing large crowds.
