Businessman Khokon hacked to death in front of ISKCON Temple in Bogura; one injured

In Seujgari Palpara area of Bogura city, miscreants hacked a businessman to death in front of the ISKCON temple. The deceased businessman has been identified as Habibur Rahman Khokon (38). The murder took place on Monday (27 October) around 8:15 PM. Another person was injured in the attack, identified as Bandhan (26), who has been admitted to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

According to police and local sources, Khokon and Bandhan were first taken by motorcycle from Satmatha-Tirmatha road to Seujgari Palpara. There, the attackers used sharp weapons to strike Khokon on his head and other parts of his body, killing him. Bandhan was seriously injured in the attack, sustaining a broken leg.

Two motorcycles, a cap, and two pairs of sandals were recovered from the scene. The police have launched an investigation, but the motive and the identities of the attackers have not yet been confirmed.

Mostafa Manzur, Additional Superintendent of Police of Bogura Sadar Circle, said, “No information about the motive behind the murder has been obtained yet. We have begun an investigation and will reveal the actual reason soon.”

The deceased, Habibur Rahman Khokon, was the son of Kamal Hossain of Maltinagar Southpara, Bogura city. He previously ran a hotel business in the Kanuchgari area of the city and was currently involved in brick and sand trade. The injured Bandhan is also a resident of Maltinagar area of Bogura city.

The incident has caused fear among locals, who are demanding the swift arrest of the perpetrators and that they be brought to justice.
