BPL-12: Final list of domestic players announced; auction on 30 November

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Governing Council has announced the final shortlist of domestic players for the upcoming 12th BPL season. The player auction, or ‘Players Draft,’ will take place on 30 November, featuring 166 cricketers across various categories.

Top players are in the ‘A’ category, with a base price of up to 5 million BDT. This list includes Liton Das, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Naeem Sheikh, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, and Mustafizur Rahman. Three of them have already been signed directly by franchises: Taskin Ahmed by Dhaka Capitals, Mehedi Hasan Miraz by Sylhet Titans, and Mustafizur Rahman by Rangpur Riders.

In the ‘B’ category, 20 players have been signed directly. Regular national players such as Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Tauhid Hridoy are included. Rangpur Riders signed wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan, Noakhali Express signed pacer Hasan Mahmud and opener Soumya Sarkar, Chattogram Royals signed Sheikh Mehedi Hasan and Tanvir Islam, Sylhet Titans added spinner Nasum Ahmed, and Dhaka Capitals took Saif Hasan.

The ‘C’ category mainly includes middle-order and young players such as Afif Hossain Dhruv, Ibadat Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain Soikat, Taijul Islam, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Akbar Ali, Enamul Haque Bijoy, and Sabbir Rahman.

Franchises will select players from the auction to build their teams. Excitement and surprises are expected at stadiums in Dhaka, where domestic stars and young talents alike will have a chance to showcase their abilities.
