Statistics from international T20 matches in 2025 show that it has been a successful year for Bangladesh’s bowlers. Among the Test-playing nations, Rishad Hossain has emerged as one of the top wicket-takers. He is joined on the list by Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman.

Rishad Hossain has taken 26 wickets in 21 innings, tying with West Indies’ Jason Holder for the top spot. In terms of bowling economy rate, Rishad (8.50) is slightly better than Holder (8.59). However, Holder has a better bowling average of 21, compared to Rishad’s 24.30.

Considering all countries, Rishad’s ranking drops slightly. Among ICC associate member countries, Rizwan Butt of Bahrain leads with 50 wickets in 29 matches, followed by Umair Tariq of Austria with 48 wickets and Aqib Iqbal with 43 wickets. In this overall ranking, Rishad is in 10th place.

While Rishad and Holder hold the top positions, five other bowlers are closely behind. These include Mohammad Nawaz (Pakistan), Jack Duffy (New Zealand), Richard Ngarava (Zimbabwe), and Bangladesh’s two pacers, Taskin Ahmed (24 wickets in 12 innings) and Mustafizur Rahman (23 wickets in 17 innings).

These three Bangladeshi bowlers have more opportunities ahead. According to the FTP, Bangladesh will play four more T20 matches this year, including one remaining match in the ongoing series against the West Indies. Additionally, in November-December, Bangladesh will play a three-match T20 series against Ireland.

In this way, Rishad, Taskin, and Mustafizur are adding a new dimension to Bangladesh’s performance in international T20 cricket, with promising prospects for further success in the future.
