According to the statement, the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem and the Consular Section in Tel Aviv will remain closed until Friday (June 20). The move is based on guidance from Israel’s Home Front Command and an assessment of the overall security situation in the country.
The embassy further stated that all U.S. staff and their families have been instructed to shelter in place at secure locations until further notice. Travel outside designated areas has also been restricted.
Meanwhile, no special evacuation flights or assistance have been arranged for American citizens wishing to leave Israel. The embassy clarified that Ben Gurion International Airport is currently closed, with no commercial or charter flights operating. Similarly, Israel’s seaports have been temporarily shut down as part of emergency security measures.
It is worth noting that the Middle East is currently witnessing intensifying military conflict between Iran and Israel, marked by missile attacks on Israeli cities and retaliatory strikes. The international community, including the United States, has expressed deep concern and urged all citizens in the region to remain vigilant.
