In Titash Upazila of Comilla, seven members of the same family, including women and children, were reportedly beaten and injured by opponents over a land dispute. The incident took place on Wednesday (19 November) in front of the house of the late Abdul Matin in Kadamtoli village, Vitikandi Union.

The injured are—Zulekha Begum (55), her daughter Rehena Akter (31), granddaughter Anika Akter (17), grandson Tamim (8), Shimu Akter (15), son Sohag Mia (29), and son-in-law Sajib Mia (22). Locals rescued all of them and admitted them to Titash Upazila Health Complex.

Following the incident, Shahina Akter filed a written complaint at Titash Police Station on behalf of the injured. In the complaint, she mentioned that there had been a long-standing land dispute between the family of the late Abdul Matin and the neighboring families of Sekandar, Yasin, and Helal. As part of this ongoing conflict, a verbal altercation occurred on Wednesday morning. Shortly after, 15–20 members of the opposing side attacked them with sticks, severely injuring everyone in front of the house before fleeing the scene.

Shahina Akter said, “There are no male members at our house. Taking advantage of this, the opponents have been attacking us repeatedly. They want to kill us to occupy our land. We are now extremely unsafe. We demand a proper investigation and justice.”

None of the accused agreed to comment on the matter.

OC of Titash Police Station, Khaled Saifullah, said, “A complaint has been received regarding the clash. The matter will be investigated, and legal action will be taken.”
