NBR Launches Online VAT Refund Module

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has launched an online VAT refund module to allow taxpayers to apply for refunds, process them, and transfer the amounts directly to their bank accounts.

According to an NBR press release, the module integrates the VAT Administration System (IVAS) with the Finance Ministry’s IVAS++, enabling direct transfer of VAT refunds through the Bangladesh Electronic Fund Transfer Network (BEFTN) to taxpayers’ designated accounts.

Taxpayers can apply online for their VAT refunds through their VAT returns. The system aims to make the process more transparent, faster, and accessible, saving time and effort while increasing transparency in government financial processes.
