From the 2025-26 academic year, five more universities may be included in the cluster admission system. On Monday, November 10, a meeting was held at the University Grants Commission (UGC) conference room in Agargaon, Dhaka, to discuss the matter.

The UGC invited universities currently outside the cluster system to rejoin. It was decided that these universities would discuss the issue within their academic councils and finalize decisions soon. Afterwards, UGC and the Ministry of Education will take necessary steps.

The universities under consideration are: Jagannath University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Haji Danesh Science and Technology University, and Comilla University.

A total of 24 university registrars, including these five, were invited to the meeting. UGC sources said the vice-chancellors have already begun discussions.

The admission tests for the next academic year are scheduled for March 27, April 3, and April 10. The ‘C’ unit exam will be held on March 27, ‘B’ unit on April 3, and ‘A’ unit on April 10.

This step aims to increase transparency in the cluster admission system and make the process easier and more efficient for students.
