Emotional confession on stage: Donald Glover canceled tour after stroke

Musician and actor Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, recently revealed a health issue publicly. He said it was serious enough to force him to cancel his tour last year. Initially describing it as “an illness,” he clarified during his Saturday night performance at Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw No Festival in Los Angeles that a doctor told him he had suffered a stroke.

On stage, Glover said, “In Louisiana, I had a severe headache but still performed. I couldn’t see properly. When I got to Houston and went to the hospital, the doctor said, ‘You had a stroke.’”

He also revealed a heart defect that required two surgeries. “They say everyone is born with two lives, and the second life begins when you realize you have one. You have a life, and I truly want to say, the life I spent with you all was a blessing.”

Glover apologized for his absence and personal struggles, thanked fans, and said he has yet to travel to Ireland.
