On Wednesday evening, the members of the National Consensus Commission handed over the eight-volume report to the Chief Adviser at the State Guest House, Jamuna. The report contains the Commission’s recommendations, detailed records of meetings, and activity reports.
Professor Muhammad Yunus said, “This report should be prepared in a format that is easily understandable by ordinary people. It should be published as a book so that school and college students, as well as the general public, can read it, understand it, and explain it to others.” He added, “The book should be published in both Bengali and English. In the future, it should be considered essential reading for students. Young people will read it, learn from it, and share its contents with their families.”
Present at the report handover were Vice-Chairman of the Consensus Commission Professor Ali Riaz, Commission members Justice Md. Emdadul Haque, Dr. Iftikharuzzaman, Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar, Dr. Md. Ayub Mia, and the Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Monir Haidar.
Professor Ali Riaz stated, “This eight-volume report details the July National Charter 2025, the Commission’s operational processes, context, proposals received from various political parties and the general public, and the dialogues and discussions held with political parties. We believe that in the future, this eight-volume report will serve as an important document for research both in Bangladesh and abroad.”
Earlier, on Tuesday, the Commission had submitted its recommendations to the government for the implementation of the July National Charter.
