Staff Reporter | PNN:
Barcelona has strongly denied the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) allegations regarding the treatment of young star Lamine Yamal. The club said the claims were “completely baseless” and that all medical information was shared responsibly and promptly.

The Federation had complained that Barcelona did not immediately inform them after Yamal received radiofrequency therapy for a hamstring injury, causing concern for the national team’s medical staff. Coach Luis de la Fuente commented, “I’ve never seen a situation like this before. It’s completely unacceptable.”

Barcelona clarified that the treatment was conducted under Belgian specialist Dr. Ernest Schilders. “Immediately after treatment, a detailed report was sent to the Federation’s medical team. We always act transparently and responsibly,” the club stated.

The therapy was completed on 10 November, the day after the match against Celta Vigo. Barcelona claims Yamal’s recovery is on track and free from complications.

The incident has further strained relations between Barcelona and the Spanish Federation. Previously, in September, Yamal received painkiller injections while playing for the national team, which had already worsened the club-federation relationship.

The 18-year-old forward is currently under club supervision for rehabilitation. He joined the national team camp on Monday but was excluded by Coach de la Fuente and sent back to Barcelona. Spain will play two key World Cup qualifiers during the FIFA window—against Georgia on 15 November and Turkey on 18 November—without Yamal, intensifying the debate over the young talent.
