Bangladesh ‘A’ team secured their second consecutive win in the Asia Cup Rising Stars. After easily defeating Hong Kong in their first match, they beat Afghanistan ‘A’ team by 8 wickets in the second match.
Afghanistan batted first and were bowled out for 78 runs against Bangladesh bowlers. In reply, Bangladesh’s batters chased the target comfortably with 8 wickets in hand and 39 balls remaining.
In batting, Habibur Rahman Sohan scored 10 runs off 13 balls before being dismissed. Jisan Fereon scored 10 runs off 16 balls. Then Jawad Abrar and Mahidul Islam Ankon built a steady partnership. Abrar remained unbeaten on 24 runs off 22 balls, while Ankon scored an unbeaten 27 off 30 balls, helping Bangladesh complete the chase.
In bowling, Rokibul and Ripon took three wickets each. Afghanistan struggled with batting from the start, with Ripon dismissing Imran on the third ball and taking two more wickets in the next over. Afghanistan’s middle-order could not contribute significant runs, while Kayes Ahmed added 12 runs at the end.
With this win, Bangladesh ‘A’ team strengthened their position in the Asia Cup Rising Stars and maintained their lead in the group.
